Ensuring Safety : WeatherMaster 335

In the demanding environments of worksites and construction zones, ensuring safety with effective access control is crucial. We have developed our WeatherMaster 335 retractable barrier specifically for the requirements of these tough, work settings. We focused the design on five – key elements: cost, speed of setup, durability, weatherproofing, and portability. Join us as we review how the WeatherMaster 335’s design features address these needs, making this the most advanced retractable barrier on the market today.

Extended Reach for Fewer Posts

The standout feature of the WeatherMaster 335 is its exceptional belt length. The belt comes in length options of 20 to 35 ft length options, making it up to 4 ½ times longer than the industry standard 7.5 ft. Longer belts means fewer stanchions are required for a given length of cordon saving in purchase cost and set up time. Worksites often have large areas that need cordoning and having a barrier with an exceptionally long belt can significantly simplify the logistics of storing, moving and setting up barriers. Of course, the other factor for consideration is the reduction in purchase cost gained from needing fewer barriers. As you can see in the example below creating a 120’ square cordon with a standard 7.5’ belt length would take 17 barriers but with the WeatherMaster 335 you would need just 4! This cost-effective solution is ideal for large scale projects where maximizing coverage and minimizing resources is paramount.

Unmatched Durability in Any Weather

As the name would suggest, the WeatherMaster 335 is designed for use in the harshest weather conditions. The base is made from rubber so cannot rust while its large 19” diameter provides stability even in windy conditions. The post is manufactured from steel rather than aluminum or PVC steel for strength and durability and is powder coated for long term corrosion resistance. The combination of these two features makes the WeatherMaster 335 an ideal choice for outdoor worksites and construction zones.

Strength and Portability

The WeatherMaster 335’s base has a number of design features that enhance performance. Heavy duty rubber construction is designed to take the punishment that comes with use in harsh working environments and in fact this base can be driven over with no effect to the base. The design uses a wide stance rather than heavy weight to give the stability required for exceptionally long belts to be deployed outdoors and this makes the WeatherMaster easy to move and transport. Portability is further improved by the inclusion of carry handles in the design. Finally, the curved shape of the base is designed to reduce trip hazards further improving site safety.

Versatile Customization

Visibility is another key aspect of safety barrier design. The WeatherMaster 335 offers a range of post color options including classic black, and high visibility yellow, red and orange. Following OSHA guidelines we recommend these colors be selected depending on the environment they are to be used in yellow for caution, red for danger and orange for warning of equipment in use.

Not only are the post colors a key element in warning of potential hazards, but the belts also play a critical role in providing information as to the nature of the hazard. The WeatherMaster is available with a range of 50 stock colors, stripes or safety messages. If none of the stock options meets your needs, we can custom print the belt in any color, text, logo or design you require.
